Custom 100% Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater

Two-ply Inner Mongolian cashmere at 12GG, knitted plain so the fibre does the talking — with your own neck label and hang tag.

The enquiry that brings most buyers to a cashmere crew neck is simple: a plain sweater that feels like cashmere should, at a landed cost that still leaves room at retail. The reasons it goes wrong are also simple, and every one of them is decided before the machine starts. This pullover runs on 100% two-ply cashmere from Inner Mongolia at 15.5-16.5 micron and 34-38 mm staple, and the staple length is the specification that decides whether the garment pills in its first month. Short fibre works its way out of the loop under friction, and that is what a customer sees as pilling; long fibre stays inside the yarn. Micron sets the softness and the price, staple sets the behaviour in wear, so we quote both rather than letting a micron number stand in for the whole spec. Ply is the second decision, and it is where a cheap cashmere sweater becomes visible on the body. A single-ply yarn costs less per kilo and knits faster, but on a 300-380 g 12GG body it reads thin at the elbow and goes slightly see-through when stretched across the chest. Two-ply gives the panel the weight to hang from the shoulder and the density to stay opaque, and it is the first line we will defend when a target price is too low for this fibre. The neckband is a 1x1 rib knitted as its own strip and linked to the neckline stitch for stitch, not a folded-over band sewn on. On cashmere that difference shows within weeks: a folded band softens at the crease, its edge curls and the opening grows, while a linked rib band holds its stand and recovers after washing. The same logic applies at the cuffs and hem, which are knitted in matching rib and linked rather than turned and stitched, so the hem sits flat over a waistband instead of gripping it. Branding is where the two close-ups in the gallery matter. Both garments there carry our own name only because they are our samples; on production we knit to yours — woven or printed neck labels, printed or uncoated-kraft hang tags with your artwork, care and composition labels worded for the market the goods are landing in, including the fibre-origin wording US and EU rules require, plus polybag, tissue or recycled carton packing to your spec. Labels are ordered against your artwork at the sampling stage, not after bulk approval, because a neck label that arrives late is a shipment that waits. Colour is where cashmere programmes usually get too conservative. The six shades shown — camel, oatmeal, blush, ivory, sky and ochre — are stock yarns, and any of them can be lab-dipped to a Pantone reference before bulk. Soft pastels are normal for this fibre and are what carries a spring or resort cashmere story; dark shades are possible but cost more to dye and to knit, because any barre in the yarn is unforgiving on a dark ground. If the sweater ships as a set with our cashmere trousers, both pieces are knitted from one yarn lot before machine distribution, so they match under retail light and stay matched after washing. Fibre is settable across the price ladder on the same block: 100% cashmere at the top, a 30/70 or 50/50 cashmere-wool blend for volume colours, cashmere-silk for drape, cashmere-modal for a cooler handle, and extra-fine merino at the bottom. The hand-feel gap between 100% cashmere and a good 30/70 blend is smaller than the price gap at retail, which is why most programmes buy both — cashmere for the hero colourway, blend for the rest of the range. Cost is driven by three things and none of them is labour: fibre grade, which moves with the raw cashmere market rather than with us; ply, single against two; and gauge, since a 14GG body takes longer on the machine per piece and lands lighter, while a 7GG body uses more yarn and reads chunkier. Ask for a cashmere quote at a stated micron, staple and ply, because a price without those three numbers cannot be compared to anything. Typical buyers are quiet-luxury and minimalist labels, DTC brands building a core cashmere block, private-label retailers running a gift or resort capsule, and importers adding a premium basic to an existing knitwear range. MOQ 100 pieces per design, sampling 72 hours from yarn stock confirmation, bulk production 2-3 weeks after PPS approval, DDP door-to-door shipping to US, EU, UK, AU and JP.

Why Brands Order This Silhouette From Us

  • 100% two-ply Inner Mongolian cashmere at 15.5-16.5 micron and 34-38 mm staple — long fibre is what resists pilling in the first season
  • Linked 1x1 rib neckband instead of a folded and sewn band, so the opening keeps its stand and does not roll after washing
  • Knitted to your own woven neck label and hang tag, ordered against your artwork at sampling so nothing waits on bulk
  • Six stock shades — camel, oatmeal, blush, ivory, sky and ochre — any of them lab-dipped to a Pantone reference
  • Fibre settable on the same block from 100% cashmere down to a 30/70 cashmere-wool blend, with same-lot dyeing for matching trousers
  • Samples are measured flat with a tape laid on the garment and photographed that way, so chest, length and sleeve are verifiable before bulk instead of argued about after it — the brush-finished crew neck in the last gallery shot is one of those measurement shots
  • Real-time ERP portal tracking: live PPS, bulk knitting, and QC inspection photos
  • Custom brand packaging: woven neck labels, care tags, and biodegradable bags

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom 100% Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater

It is 100% cashmere unless you ask for something else, and this page names both because they are different products. 100% two-ply Inner Mongolian cashmere at 15.5-16.5 micron is the standard build; a 30/70 cashmere-wool blend, cashmere-silk, cashmere-modal and extra-fine merino are the alternatives on the same block. What we will not do is call a cashmere-touch acrylic cashmere. If your price point needs an acrylic, we quote an acrylic and label it as one, because a mislabelled fibre is a customs and retail-compliance problem rather than a marketing decision.
