Separate yarn feeds knitted into distinct graphical panels — ideal for large bold chest graphics, abstract patterns, and colour-blocked silhouettes. Unlike jacquard, where unused colours run as floats across the back of the fabric, intarsia uses dedicated yarn ends at each colour boundary so the reverse of the fabric stays clean and the garment is lighter overall. The technique is well-suited to bold front-panel graphics on crew-neck sweaters, oversized chest motifs on cardigans and pullovers, and full-garment colour-blocked silhouettes. Production gauges run from 3GG to 12GG, with the fine-gauge formats used for graphic-rich lightweight layering pieces and chunky gauges for statement winter sweaters. Successful intarsia knitting requires meticulous yarn-feeder management and slower machine speeds to prevent hole formation at colour boundaries — a discipline our in-house punchers have refined across thousands of production runs. Yarn options include merino wool for premium knitwear, organic cotton for everyday pieces, and alpaca blend for elevated softness.
