Custom Cashmere & Wool Knit Polo Shirt
A solid fine-gauge polo in a 35/65 cashmere-wool blend - the hardest thing we knit precisely because there is no pattern to hide behind.
The solid-colour polo is the plainest garment we make and the one buyers most often underestimate. This one is knitted at 14 gauge in a 35% cashmere / 65% wool blend, short sleeve, on a two-piece knitted collar with a three-button placket. Because it carries no pattern, everything a busy surface would otherwise forgive is exposed: yarn evenness, tension, whether the collar stands, and whether the placket still sits flat after washing. That is the real reason a fine-gauge solid is harder to make than a jacquard, and the reason most mills steer a brief like this towards a heavier gauge or towards print.
The block is the point. The composition shown here is our house blend, but the same block runs in merino, extra-fine merino at 19.5 micron, Pima cotton, a silk-merino blend, or acrylic-wool for an opening price point - the silhouette, collar and placket stay identical and only the yarn and the price move. Jacquard, intarsia or a chest logo can be built on it as well, which is why we quote polo programmes as one block with variations rather than as separate styles: a buyer can open with three plain colours and add a two-colour chest motif in the second season without re-approving the fit.
Three things decide whether a knit polo reads as premium or cheap, and all three are fixed before sampling. Collar stand height and density come first: the collar is knitted as a separate piece and linked on, and it has to hold an upright stand without a fusible interlining, because a knit collar that collapses at the fold reads instantly as cheap. Placket length and button spacing come second - short plackets read sporty, long ones read dressier, and the button count has to be settled together with the length rather than after it. Third is rib depth at the cuffs and hem: the deeper the rib, the better the garment holds its shape and the more yarn it consumes.
Typical buyers are premium menswear and resort labels, corporate and uniform programmes that need a quiet logo rather than a graphic, and private-label brands building a solid knit polo for spring. Woven neck label, printed hangtag, size and care labels and a yarn colour card all ship with the development, so the composition and the palette are signed off before bulk. MOQ 100 pieces per design, sampling 72 hours from yarn stock confirmation, bulk production 2-3 weeks after PPS approval, DDP worldwide.

What Is 3-Ply Cashmere? The Number Behind a Polo Price
Three-ply does not mean three times the cashmere. It is one of four specification lines that decide what a fine-gauge polo really costs - the others being micron, gauge and whether the panels are fully fashioned.
