Custom Long-Sleeve Jacquard Polo Sweater
Four structures in one garment — solid heather body, two different sleeve jacquards, a chenille chest patch — every one of them re-programmed from your artwork.
Our long-sleeve polo sweater is the piece we use to show buyers what a mixed-construction knit looks like. The body is a solid heather grey jersey, the left sleeve carries a placement star jacquard, the right sleeve an engineered stripe running the full length of the arm, and the chest carries a raised chenille patch — four different structures inside one garment, knitted on the same flat-knit floor rather than assembled from bought panels. That is the part most mills cannot do. A volume mill will knit a plain body and print or bond the sleeves on. We programme each sleeve as its own stitch file and knit it to the armhole shape, so the star placement lands where the artwork says on every size, and the stripe stays parallel to the sleeve edge after the sleeve is set in. Multiple colourways in the same run means one programme per colourway, which is why colour count — not yarn price — is the first number that moves when you edit a design. The collar and three-button placket are knitted on the flat machine and linked on, with a denser stitch in the collar so it holds an upright stand without a fusible interlining. The chest oval and the badge are worked on the embroidery head after knitting: loop-pile chenille for the wordmark so a script reads as embroidery rather than a print, flat dense fill for the badge so its outline stays crisp. Two different embroidery settings on one panel, and the order of operations matters — embroidery runs after the garment wash, otherwise the pile flattens and the logo loses its relief. Everything on this page is replaceable. The wordmark, the badge shape, the star size, the stripe width and the whole colourway are re-programmed from your artwork: we redraw your file into a stitch file, knit a swatch in your yarn, and only then cut a full sample. Send vector art where possible (AI, EPS, PDF or a clean high-resolution PNG); a photo of a flat patch is enough to start and we will redraw it. If your logo is a script or a fine serif, expect us to flag at artwork stage that the stroke has to be thickened to survive the pile — a hairline script stroke simply disappears in chenille, and that is a conversation worth having before sampling rather than after. Note on the photographs: the lettering and marks shown belong to the client who commissioned this piece and are reproduced only to demonstrate construction. We do not sell, license or sublicense them, and nothing on this page is offered as branded stock — your own artwork replaces all of it. If you are choosing between this and our other polo builds, the split is simple: the short-sleeve jacquard polo is all-over colourwork on a lightweight summer body, the cable polo sweater is a single-texture cable knit, and this one is the mixed-construction piece where two sleeves plus a patch each carry their own programme. Typical buyers are collegiate and varsity-inspired streetwear labels, motorsport and Americana capsule collections, resort and country-club merchandise programs, and brands building a hero piece around one large patch. Settle the sleeve fit before anything else: a drop-shoulder reads more streetwear and needs a wider stripe repeat, while a set-in reads more retail but forces the star placement to be re-graded per size, because the armhole shaping eats pattern width and a pattern programmed for one size thins out at the sleeve head on the next. Send a graded size chart rather than a single flat measurement, and tell us your in-store or launch date — the garment wash plus embroidery stage adds a step that a plain knit does not have, so working backwards from the retail date is more reliable than adding days to a sampling quote. MOQ 100 pcs per design, sampling 72 hours from yarn stock confirmation, bulk production 2–3 weeks after PPS approval, DDP door-to-door to US, EU, UK, AU and JP.
