Our matching human and pet cable knit polo is the piece that turns a pet accessory line into a family brand. Both garments are knitted from a single artwork file on the same flat-bed machines, so the rope cable columns, the rib dividers running between them and the contrast cuff band align stitch for stitch between the adult polo and the pet piece — not a similar pattern, the same programme. That is the cheap part. The expensive part is colour: both pieces are dyed from one yarn lot before machine distribution, which is the only dependable way to stop the sky blue on the dog reading a shade lighter than the sky blue on the owner under retail lighting. Matching sets are a dye-lot problem far more than a knitting problem, and it is where most mills hand back two blues and call it close enough. The adult version is a short-sleeve polo on a rib-backed collar with a button placket and a stepped rib hem, graded S to XXL. The pet version keeps the polo collar and a two-button placket, but the body is re-engineered for a dog rather than scaled down from the human block: the hem is arched high over the belly so the garment clears the ground, the leg opening is cut as a clean curve instead of a straight tube, and the cuffs are contrast-banded so they read as a design decision rather than a sizing afterthought. Pet sizing runs XS to XXL across six graded ranges covering a toy poodle through to a golden retriever. Combed cotton is the standard yarn — breathable, soft against skin and coat, and machine washable without the pilling that acrylic develops once a pet has worn it twice. Gauge is settable: 12GG gives the fine combed-cotton hand in the reference pieces, while 7GG produces a chunkier lambswool or wool-blend version for a colder-weather drop. Every ground and contrast band is Pantone-matched before bulk, and private woven neck labels, printed hangtags and separate pet and adult size tags are included at no extra charge.
