A Christmas cardigan looks like a jumper with buttons added and is nothing of the kind. The placket cuts the front panel in two, so every band that crosses it has to be split, mirrored and re-landed on the other side, and the lettering that reads OH! OH! OH! across the chest has to break at exactly the same stitch on both fronts or the phrase arrives out of register. That is the whole engineering problem and it is why cheap cardigans show a kink at the buttons that nobody can quite name. This build is seven bands worked across the full front and both sleeves: a Santa-and-tree band with red triangle ground, a snowflake band, a gift-and-heart band, two chevron dividers, a lettering band at the chest and a second at the hem. The V-neck is knitted to the V rather than cut into it, so the red 2x1 rib follows the opening without a seam, and the buttonholes are set on a stitch column instead of between two, because a hole that straddles a column pulls the placket open and the front hangs crooked after a month. Buttons are four-hole tortoiseshell resin, anchored with a shanked stitch so they sit off the knit rather than crushing it. Yarn is your call — 100% acrylic for volume and colour, cotton-acrylic for a softer hand, merino or a cashmere blend for premium — all anti-pilling finished and reactive dyed to grade 4.5. Labelling, hangtags, barcodes and export cartons are all yours, and the carton is packed 24 pieces at 60 x 40 x 35 cm.
