Custom Monogram Jacquard Polo Cardigan

Monogram knitwear fails at the point where a designer's vector becomes a knitting chart, and almost nobody warns a buyer about it in advance. A 1 mm stroke is 0.45 stitches at 12GG: the machine has nowhere to put it, so it either drops out or doubles up, and the counter inside an A or an R closes into a solid block. By the time the sample arrives the mark has become texture, and the whole point of a monogram is that it is legible. We handle this before knitting. Your artwork is redrawn on the stitch grid rather than scaled into it, stroke by stroke, with a three-stitch minimum, one clear stitch inside every counter and two stitches between letters. If a mark cannot survive that treatment we say so, and propose the simplified version that will, rather than sample something you will reject. Every order then starts with a 30 x 30 cm knit test on the real yarn, posted flat and photographed in daylight, before a garment is cut. An all-over pattern also has to be built for the inside: this programme runs float-tucks with a five-needle maximum float and tie-in points every fifth needle, so the reverse is clean enough to wear against skin without snag loops. Colours, ground and motif are matched on a yarn pom, not on screen. The collar is a two-piece knitted spread collar with a milano-stitch under-collar so it holds its shape without fusing, and the mark is held 7 mm clear of the placket and side seams so it never runs into a join.
